Lesson #1. Pray

Prayer can be powerful.  I always thought there were magic words to say or a special way to say them.  And then I realized that God was my Father.  The lesson is that you prayer to talk to him.  You should pray for things that are bigger than you, like world peace and to find cures to horrible diseases.  It's also OK to pray for little things, like a dog or an A on a paper or for that toy you just have to have.

Sometimes, it's even OK to just ask God to give you what you need.  There are times when I feel so lost or overwhelmed that I don't know where to begin in prayer, but I know that God knows.  So, on those days, it's OK to keep it simple.

Pray for others.  You have to remember that when you see that crabby person at the grocery store or the angry driver 5 inches from our bumper that they probably have bigger things on their mind.  It's those people who needs prayer.  Pray that their anger is lifted and happiness fills their life.

Don't be afraid to ask for prayers.  I always pray for my kiddo's, but sometimes I don't know what is weighing on you.  If you tell me your worries and concerns, I will pray for you.

  1. Hello! I just discovered your blog as I was searching through the list of fellow bloggers who share "happiness" as an interest. I've only read a few of your posts so far and I really enjoy your writing! Even though you're writing these lessons for your kids, they are good lessons for anyone, I think. I love how you include quotes as well (love quotes). I'm new to blogging this summer as well. Glad I found your blog! ~Leigh
